2. Information handled by the app
MPP files and exports
You choose which MPP file GanttPeek may open. On macOS, the app copies the selected file into a randomly named private sandbox folder, parses it locally, validates the result, and removes the working folder after the operation. On iPhone and iPad, the app reads the user-selected file through Apple’s document picker and parses it in memory. It does not upload the file or schedule contents to Eutopix Labs and never modifies the source MPP.
On macOS, PDF and CSV exports are written to a location you select. On iPhone and iPad, an export is created under a unique name in the app’s temporary directory and offered through Apple’s share sheet; GanttPeek removes its temporary copy when sharing finishes. The receiving app or destination you choose controls any copy you share.
Recent files and local preferences
The Mac app can store a local recent-project list containing the file name, path, last-opened time, and a read-only security bookmark so you can reopen the file. This information stays in the app’s preferences on your Mac, is not sent to Eutopix Labs, and can be removed with Clear Recents or by uninstalling the app. The iPhone and iPad app does not maintain a recent-project list.
To enforce the one-project free allowance, GanttPeek stores a project identifier in local app preferences. The identifier is derived from project metadata; it does not contain the project file path or schedule contents and is not sent to Eutopix Labs. Verified Lifetime and prior-purchase access are also stored locally so the app can remember access between launches.
Telemetry and accounts
GanttPeek does not create an account and does not contain an analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party crash-reporting SDK. We do not automatically receive app-usage events, opened file names, schedule contents, or device identifiers from the app.
Optional local diagnostics
GanttPeek can keep Apple-provided crash and performance diagnostics and fixed technical event codes on your device to help troubleshoot problems. Reports can include technical details such as app and operating-system versions, timestamps, and crash stacks. The app does not add schedule contents, filenames, or file paths to its event records, and does not automatically upload reports. In Diagnostics, you can export a JSON report to a location you choose or delete local reports. Open and review the exported report before choosing to send it to support; the recipient or destination you choose controls the shared copy.
Local retention is bounded to 14 days and 16 report files, with a maximum of 1 MiB per report. Retention cleanup runs when the app accesses diagnostics; exported copies are not removed by this cleanup. If you intentionally send a report to support, it is handled under the support correspondence terms below.
Apple services
When GanttPeek loads, purchases, or restores Lifetime access, StoreKit communicates with Apple to retrieve product and entitlement information. Apple processes App Store purchases, receipts, refunds, and—depending on your device settings—diagnostic reports under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. GanttPeek does not receive your full payment-card information. Aggregated sales and diagnostic information Apple makes available to developers is handled within App Store Connect for product operation and improvement.
3. This website
The GanttPeek website does not set cookies, use analytics, show ads, embed social-media trackers, or provide a web contact form. Like ordinary website infrastructure, the hosting and network providers may temporarily process request information such as IP address, requested path, timestamp, user agent, and security signals to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a secure, reliable website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Provider security and delivery logs are retained according to the provider configuration and are deleted or aggregated when no longer reasonably necessary, unless an incident or legal obligation requires longer preservation.
4. Support messages
If you email support, we process the contact details and content you choose to provide so we can answer, troubleshoot, protect the service, and maintain business records. The legal bases are steps to perform our agreement and our legitimate interest in customer support (GDPR Articles 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f)); legally required records may be retained under Article 6(1)(c).
Support correspondence is ordinarily deleted or anonymized within 24 months after the issue is resolved, unless a longer period is required to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims or comply with law. Please do not send a confidential MPP file unless support specifically asks for a minimal test file and you are authorized to share it.
5. Recipients and transfers
Information may be processed by service providers that operate website hosting, network delivery, business email, or Apple distribution on our behalf or as independent controllers. We limit access to what is needed for those services. Where personal information is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on an applicable adequacy decision, approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to processing, and may withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. Because the app does not send us schedule contents or identify app users, we normally cannot retrieve app-local information. You can delete exports from their destination, clear Mac recents in the app, and uninstall GanttPeek from your Apple device.
Contact support@ganttpeek.com to exercise a right. You may also complain to the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), or the competent authority where you live or work.
7. Children
GanttPeek is a professional schedule-viewing tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
8. Security and changes
We use app sandboxing, user-selected read-only file access, bounded parsing, private temporary storage, and code signing to reduce risk. No security measure is absolute. We will update this notice when data practices materially change and will revise the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate product or website notice.
