Keep project review notes beside the schedule

GanttPeek 1.2 adds project notes, meeting minutes and action items beside the schedule, plus explicitly transferred Apple Watch snapshots.

Keep the source schedule and your observations separate

Open the supported schedule and review its tasks and dates. GanttPeek is a read-only schedule viewer: recording a notebook observation does not edit the original MPP or Primavera plan, reschedule a task or notify a project manager.

Use the project notebook for meeting minutes and action items. Reference the task and date you reviewed so a later reader can understand what prompted the note. An observation about a date is different from an approved change to that date.

Attach context while it is available

Keep relevant documents with the review, or record a local voice memo while the discussion is fresh. Give attachments and notes descriptive names. Before sharing, check whether they include customer details or internal working material that the recipient should not receive.

For a fictional example, a site review might note “Confirm access before the delivery task” and attach the current access note. That records a question to resolve; it does not prove the delivery date is achievable or the question has been assigned in an external system.

Share a review bundle and check action dates

GanttPeek 1.2 can share a review bundle and action dates. Open what you are about to send and check the project, notes and dates against the intended handover. Make clear who should follow up and whether the source schedule has changed since your review.

The release also opens CSV and TSV schedule tables with ISO dates. Check the parsed dates and available fields before relying on a spreadsheet-derived timeline. Format support is not a guarantee of complete scheduling semantics.

Treat the Watch as a snapshot

Explicitly send a snapshot from iPhone before leaving the phone behind. The Watch companion can show that snapshot offline and queue observations for the project notebook. A snapshot is a copy of a particular state, not a live connection to the author’s planning system.

Check the phone’s notebook after reconnecting before treating a queued observation as received. Optional on-device drafting requires a supported device and remains a draft to review. The app is not a certified scheduling or contractual-verification system.
